ADHD Coaches can enhance the way ADHD-ers manage their entire lives. Through coaching, we can find our purpose, explore our passions, achieve higher goals, and feel confident and successful in every aspect of our lives.

Even after learning about ADHD, it is not that easy to just implement a ton of lifestyle and habit changes overnight. ADHD management is a constant and ongoing process. ADHD coaching and treatment is not going to cure anyone’s ADHD.
In January of 2019, I hired a coach. It felt like the scariest thing I could ever do, especially because my finances were not looking great, but I thought, “I spend a lot of money on a lot of wasteful things in my life, at least this is an attempt toward investing in myself.” Every month that I paid my coach, I flinched a little bit.
However, after two years of coaching, I can now clearly see that I invested well. My coach helped me build the confidence I needed to increase my salary by more than $20,000 in one year. She also helped me realize that even after that salary increase, my value was still worth much more.
Here the top 4 reasons why ADHD Coaches can be a game-changer for your ADHD management and life!
1. Strength-based strategies:
ADHD-ers do SO much better with positive motivation and strength-based systems. We spend a lot of our lives feeling ashamed of the basic tasks that others feel we should be able to accomplish. Instead of trying to improve in areas that we are bad at, we could improve our lives so much more by becoming experts at things that we are good at.
ADHD Coaches can help you figure out what it is that you are good at, and help you reset your life to use those skills to your advantage. After years of hearing about the areas that you are “not good enough” in, those positive aspects of yourself might be a bit more hidden for you.
2. Judgment-Free, Personalized Support:
It is so difficult to receive the support we need from people that do not understand how our brains work. If someone tries to tell my I should just “try harder” one more time, my brain might just explode. Sometimes our brains are going too fast, and we need a safe space to explore our thoughts and feelings freely. ADHD coaches can provide that space.
I’ve spent a lot of my life keeping my feelings to myself, and that freedom to communicate my feelings and organize my thoughts is essential to my ability to regulate my emotions and keep control of my reactions.
3. Clear Structures and Planning:
For many of us, the biggest barrier to our ability to reach our goals is our inability to clearly see the steps we need to take to get there. For example, if someone told me to clean my room when I was younger, I used to freeze up and get stuck because I don’t really know what that means! The concept of what a clean room is can be completely subjective, and I did not have any idea where to start. However, if someone told me “make sure there is nothing on the floors and surfaces,” I could get started right away because my brain can create steps out of that. ADHD coaching can help you create steps to reach your own goals and also hold you accountable to the goals you have set for yourself. That extra push can be critical in maintaining our consistency and avoiding burnout.
4. ADHD Mindset Shifting:
After a lifetime of negative feedback, it can be difficult to shift our minds toward remembering our strengths and overcoming our shame and guilt for every time that we fall short of our own high expectations. However, a strengths-focused lifestyle is KEY to wellness and satisfaction with ADHD. Coaches should understand the symptoms of ADHD enough to show you how to get rid of a negative outlook on your abilities and life. If you do not believe in yourself and love yourself, it is not very likely that any other effort will last consistently.

Hiring a Coach has enhanced my entire life!
Through coaching I was able to solidify my purpose and my commitment to achieving my goals. It’s an ongoing process, and I do not see a time where I would ever not benefit from coaching. I’ve decided to make it a priority to always have a coach, because I know that the support of a coach can add endless value to my life. By prioritizing having a coach, I am prioritizing my own self-growth and success. I hope you'll try it too!!
